Description
Abstract
The main objective of this paper is to deliberate the role of the university in the social reality in which we operate. As educators of future social workers, we are concerned rethink our teaching in the light of the new socio-political context: the social crisis and the growing inequality in Western societies are calling to adapt the strategies and functions of the social work profession in this time and in this situation. Because culture and politics go hand by hand even with different tasks, the intellectual work is in the realm of ideas, offering postulates and principles which support the political decisions and actions. In this sense, our proposal is some considerations to substantiate the current need for social work to retrieve his reformist function.
