dc.description.abstract	Partiendo de una descripción somera de la estructura del empleo a comienzos del siglo XIX, este artículo ofrece una panorámica del sistema de relaciones laborales en la España liberal. Un sistema basado en una escasa pero precisa norma-tiva cuyo objetivo fue el incremento de la oferta de mano de obra para un mercado de trabajo liberado de viejos obstácu-los y reglamentaciones. Frente a esa estrategia, las clases tra-bajadoras rurales y urbanas ofrecieron resistencias sociales y políticas con objeto de conservar el derecho a decidir sobre sus vidas o, lo que es lo mismo, el capital material e inmaterial necesario para, al menos, conseguir una relación satisfactoria con sus empleadores. El grado y el resultado de esa resistencia variaron en función de condicionantes sociales, económicos e históricos; es decir, de los climas institucionales que conforma-ban los diversos capitalismos en España	es
dc.description.abstract	Starting from a brief description of the structure of employment at the beginning of the 19th century, this article provides an overview of the system of labour relations in the liberal Spain. A system based on scarce but precise laws whose objective was the increase in the supply of labor for a market of labour freed of old barriers and regulations. Against that strategy, the rural and urban working classes offered social resistance and policies in order to preserve the right to decide about their lives, or what is the same, the tangible and intangible capital needed for, at least, get one satisfactory relationship with their employers.
