Abstract
El presente trabajo adopta como tema la figura de Ramón Chico de Guzmán (1843-1876), jurista miembro de la Academia Matritense de Jursiprudencia y Legislación, continuada ésta por la actual Real Academia. Dedicado a la política, además de poeta y periodista, partió ideológicamente del progresismo para hacer carrera, primero, a la sombra de Sagasta, que lo hace diputado a Cortes, y, más tarde, de Cánovas,con quien se convierte en el primer gobernador civil de la Restauración borbónica en Murcia: nota dominante en tal evolución fue su constante profesión de fe monárquica.
This work has as its theme the figure of Ramón Chico de Guzmán (1843-1876), a lawyer member of the Academia Matritense de Jurisprudencia y Legislación, which was continued by the current Real Academia. He was devoted to politics, as well as a poet and a journalist, ideologically he began from progressivism to make a career, first under the shadow of Sagasta and later of Cánovas, beside whom he becomes the first civilian governor of the Restoration of the Bourbons to Murcia: his constant profession of monarchycal faith was the dominant note in his evolution.
