Con motivo de la publicación en 2013 del libro Conimbriga tardo-antigua y medieval.
Excavaciones arqueológicas en la domus tancinus (2004-2008) (Condeixa-a-Velha, Portugal), en la serie “Archaeological Studies on Late Antiquity and Early Medieval Europe, 4000-1000 AD”, tres de los autores portugueses que participaron en dicho volum en (Virgílio Hipólito Correia, Adriaan De Man y Maria Pilar Reis) han publicado en el número 50 de la revista Conimbriga una ‘auto-recensión’ del referido trabajo. Dicho texto, en lugar de fomentar el debate científico en torno a los resultados del proyecto BASPALCRIS, contiene un sinfín de falsedades e injurias vertidas de mala fe contra el equipo de investigación español, con el único objeto de difamar, desacreditar y menospreciar el trabajo realizado. Este ataque, absolutamente gratuito, merece una respuesta, con argumentos científicos, para evidenciar las verdaderas razones que subyacen y motivan la comentada ‘auto-recensión’.
After the publication in 2013 of the book Conimbriga tardo-antigua y medieval. Excavaciones arqueológicas en la domus tancinus (2004-2008) (Condeixa-a-Velha, Portugal), in the Series “Archaeological Studies on Late Antiquity and Early Medieval Europe, 4000-1000 AD”, three of the Portuguese authors who participated in this work (Virgílio Hipólito Correia, Adriaan De Man y Maria Pilar Reis) wrote a ‘self-review’ of the mentioned volume in the number fifty of the Conimbriga Journal. This text, instead of encouraging the scientific debate about the results of the BASPALCRIS project, contains a wealth of falsehoods and slanders levelled against the Spanish scientific team with the sole purpose to defame, discredit and depreciate the cited research project. This gratuitous attack merits an answer, on scientific grounds, to demonstrate the real reasons that underlying and motivate the mentioned ‘self-review’.
