dc.description.abstractSe estudia "La Clasificación Bibliográfica Decimal" de Luis Méndez Albarrán en su contexto histórico. Esta obra es una edición didáctica de la CDU con múltiples observaciones de uso sobre sus notaciones. Se destaca en esta obra a la CDU como un instrumento que facilita el acceso sistemático a la información, con total independencia de los problemas lingüísticos que ofrecen el resto de los lenguajes documentales. Se llama la atención sobre la actualidad del sistema de clasificación para organizar fondos bibliográficos. Se señalan como condicionantes de la CDU el grado de adecuación de las notaciones a las características específicas del fondo bibliográfico y a la pericia profesional del catalogador, responsable en última instancia de los aspectos formales de las notaciones y de la coherencia del catálogo.en_EN
dc.description.abstractABSTRACT: The book "La Clasificación bibliográfica decimal" (The Universal Decimal Classification) by Luis Méndez Albarrán is study in its historical context. This work is a didactic edition of the UDC with a lot of observations of use about its notations. The UDC is distinguished as a tool that make easy the systematic access to the information, independently to the linguistic problems that offer the other documental languages. It is pay attention about the present importance of the classification system in order to organize the bibliographic resources. It is pointed out as conditionants of the UDC, the adecuation grade of the notations to the specific characteristics of the library resources and to the cataloger proffesional skills which could be responsable of the formal aspects of notations and the catalog coherence.
