Abstract
El presente artículo trata de poner de relevancia, desde el punto de vista documental, un patrimonio desconocido y poco valorado:
los textiles de la parroquia de Santa María de Elche, contemplando las piezas conservadas pero también las perdidas, conocidas
a través de los testimonios documentales, permitiendo calibrar asimismo la totalidad de tal patrimonio suntuario. Se trata, en suma,
de un estado de la cuestión sobre el estudio del patrimonio textil ilicitano, viéndose analizados los ornamentos de altar, los textiles
de las capillas y el episodio relativo a la indumentaria de la imagen, destacándose el rico y variado ajuar de la Virgen de la Asunción,
Patrona de Elche.
This article wants to put on relevancy, from the point of view of documents, an unknown and underestimated heritage: the textiles of the Saint Mary’s churche of Elche, including the preserved pieces but also the lost ones, known by documentary testimonies, allowing calibrating that luxurious heritage. It’s a condition of question about the study of textile heritage of Elche, analyzing the Altar’s ornaments, the chapel’s pieces and the episode about appearance of the religious images, with one of the most important examples: the Virgin of Asuncion.
