Description
Abstract
Abstract: Denis Diderot’s ethics and aesthetics conceptions dialogue and provide his whole oeuvre with a unitary nature: from his philosophical writings up to his theatre. Taking the ideas of truth or nature as a departure point, Diderot propounds a renewal of dramatic genres, which will give rise to the serious drama. Besides, theatre acquires a social function.
