Abstract
La formación inicial de los educadores (docentes) para todo el sistema educativo, se realiza a nivel
terciario, no universitario, en Institutos de Formación Docente.
La carrera dura cuatro años.
El currículo comprende:
• un tronco com ŭn de contenido psicológico, sociológico y pedagógico-didáctico:
• práctica docente;
• asignaturas instrumentales específicas;
• talleres optativos.
La formación permanente de los docentes se realiza en el 1.M.S. Instituto de formación de post-grado
con reciclaje, investigación didáctica y educacional, formación de maestros y profesores para integrar los
cuadros superiores del sistema y maestros de preescolares y niños con discapacidad. Los otros Institutos
realizan también, algunas de estas funciones.
The teachers in Uruguay are training in the Teacher's Training Institutes, non universitary centers, but corresponding to the third level of education, with a four years curriculum, as follows: • A common tield with psychological, sociological and pedagogic-didactical contents; • teaching practice: • specific subjects for each branch; • optional activities. The permanent training of teachers take place en I.M.S. -postdegree institute- for didactic and educational research, retraining, specific courses of directors, administrators and supervisors in education, and for preeschool and handicaped children
