Juan Rulfo.
Puesto que la obra gira en torno
a
una tradición muy presente y arraigada
en ciertas zonas de México, como Jalisco y Aguascalientes,
el texto recurre a los
estud
ios histórico
-
antropológicos acerca de las peleas de gallos
,
analizando
los
posibles simbolismos e interpretaciones culturales, así como
elementos folklóricos
para complementar los estudios existentes sobre la novela.
The paper describes and analyzes the anthropological references related to the phenomenon of cockfigh ting in Mexico that are present in Juan Rulfo’s novel The Golden Cockere l . The traditions cont ained in the book are present and rooted in some of the Mexico’s areas, like Jalisco and Aguascalientes . Therefore , the article turns to historical and anthropological studies of cockfighting, analyzing the possible symbolisms and cultural interpretations, we well as folkloric elements to complement the existent studies of the novel.
