Abstract
En este artículo se da cuenta de la política de perfeccionamiento del profesorado chileno y su importancia y relación con el desarrollo del sistema educativo, para lo cual se hace una breve reseña histórica de cómo surge y ha ido cambiando en estas tres últimas décadas, destacando sobre todo la caída que esta actividad tuvo en tiempos de la dictadura militar, y su recuperación a partir del reinicio de la vida democrática chilena.
This article informs about Chilean Teacher Training policy and its important relation to the development of the Education System. To this end there is a brief account of the history of how it arose and the process of change in the last three decades highlighting the lapse in this activity that took place during the military dictatorship and the recuperation that began with the reinstatement of democracy in Chile.
