dc.description.abstract	La épica cristiana recoge, en gran medida, el molde de la epopeya clásica. El símil, figura retórica nuclear de este género épico desde Homero, se mantiene vivo en la epopeya cristiana de Sedulio. Tras una breve introducción sobre el uso de la licencia retórica, este trabajo se centra en ofrecer ejemplos del símil en los versos del Carmen Paschale y, posteriormente, analiza su función literaria en el relato. Existe en el poema una predisposición por establecer comparaciones en las que el primer elemento es la figura humana frente a los ejemplos de la epopeya clásica, mucho más variados. Por medio del símil Sedulio ilustra características psicológicas o físicas que ayuden a comprender a los nuevos protagonistas de la poesía épica cristiana. A partir de los ejemplos presentados se deduce que sigue vigente en la poesía cristiana el modelo clásico del símil, pese a que la tendencia sea la de extender la similitudo hacia un tertium comparativum imaginativo, no presente, que acerca el tropo al símbolo o alegoría. ---------------------------	es
dc.description.abstract	The Christian epic largely absorbs the mould of the classic epic. The simile, a nuclear rhetorical figure of this epic genre since Homer, remains alive in the Christian epic of Sedulius. After a brief introduction on the use of rhetorical license, this work focuses on providing examples of the simile in the verses of the Paschale Carmen and, later, analyzes its literary function in the story. There exists in the poem a predisposition to establish comparisons in which the first element is the human figure against the examples of the classic epic, much more varied. Through the simile Sedulius illustrates psychological or physical characteristics that help to understand the new protagonists of Christian epic poetry. From the examples presented it follows that the classic model of the simile is still valid in Christian poetry, although the tendency is to extend the similarity towards an imaginative, not present, comparative tertium that brings the trope closer to the symbol or allegory
