dc.description.abstract	En este artículo analizaremos las relaciones internacionales de la República de Cuba entre 1940 y 1958. Analizaremos la política exterior de cuatro presidencias comparándolas entre sí, la primera presidencia de Fulgencio Batista (1940-1944), Ramón Grau San Martín (1944-1948), Carlos Prío Socarrás (1948-1952) y la dictadura de Fulgencio Batista (1952-1958). El estudio se divide en dos contextos geográficos: Cuba en el contexto internacional y Cuba en el ámbito interamericano. El país caribeño tuvo una tendencia prooccidental y anticomunista hasta 1959, practicó un nacionalismo moderado que se sustentó en la defensa de las pequeñas naciones frente a grandes potencias y la utilización del azúcar como principal arma política y comercial. Realizó una diplomacia activa a nivel continental, que contó con una notable participación en las plataformas internacionales americanas pero las relaciones bilaterales con algunos países americanos fueron muy versátiles.	es
dc.description.abstract	Abstract: In this article we will analyze the international relations of the Republic of Cuba between 1940 and 1958. We will analyze the foreign policy of four presidencies comparing them with each other, the first presidency of Fulgencio Batista (1940-1944), Ramón Grau San Martín (1944-1948), Carlos Prío Socarrás (1948-1952) and the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista (1952-1958). The study is divided into two geographical contexts: Cuba in the international context and Cuba in the inter-American sphere. The Caribbean country had a pro-Western and anti-communist tendency until 1959, practiced a moderate nationalism based on the defense of small nations against great powers and the use of sugar as the main political and commercial weapon. It carried out an active diplomacy at continental level, with a notable participation in the American international platforms, but bilateral relations with some American countries were very versatile.	en
