Abstract
Este artículo parte de la premisa de que Marx, en tanto
que “criptosemiotista” y filósofo, también ejerció la
semiótica. De esta manera, el artículo examina la
semiótica de Marx, así como sus acontecimientos
históricos y teóricos en Europa. La relación entre
semiótica y marxismo es entendida en la medida en que
el estudio de los signos no es una cuestión secundaria con
respecto al materialismo histórico-dialéctico. El marxismo
es considerado “un sistema abierto” en el que sus
elementos constitutivos se relacionan de tal manera que
una modificación en un solo elemento causaría impacto en
los demás. Decimos que es un sistema abierto en tanto que
es un sistema científico, el cual se encuentra sujeto a las
leyes de la ciencia y, por lo tanto, es constantemente
propenso a procesos de verificación y continuamente
expuesto a refutaciones. En este artículo se propone una
lectura crítica de las así denominadas interpretaciones
marxistas de la semiótica marxiana.
This paper claims that, as a “cryptosemiotician” and a philosopher, Marx practiced semiotics. Thus the paper examines Marx’s semiotics and its historical and theoretical developments in Europe. The relation between semiotics and Marxism is understood in the sense that the study of signs is not secondary with respect to historicaldialectical materialism. Marxism is an open system” in that the elements that constitute it are related in such a way that modification of one element provokes modification of the others. It is an open system because it is a scientific system; it is subject to the laws of science and thus continuously susceptible to verification and exposed to confutation. I propose a critical reading of so-called Marxist interpretations of Marxian semiotics.
