hemos realizado un recorrido histórico del lugar que nos servirá para conocer este tipo de
complejo arquitectónico en su contexto. Su evidente interés arquitectónico queda re

en el estudio pormenorizado de dos de sus edi
fi
cios más representativos, el Hotel Termas y
la Ermita de la Virgen de la Salud, sobresalientes ejemplos del entorno artístico que se vivía
en la España del siglo XIX, en el que la gran variedad de estilos se fundían en el interés por
la historia de la arquitectura nacional. Es así como arquitectos como Francisco Enríquez y
Ferrer y José María Aguilar y Vela, tan representativos de la arquitectura contemporánea,
crearon un complejo arquitectónico y artístico tan singular como el Balneario de Archena
Th e focus of this paper is the Balneario de Archena. First, we have made a historical tour of the place. It will serve us to identify the type of the architecture in its context. Th e architectural evidence is re fl ected on the studies of their main buildings, such as the Hotel Termas and the Ermita de la Virgen de la Salud, outstanding examples of artistic environment that existed in the nineteenth century Spain. At that time it merged the variety and di ff erent styles with the domestic architecture. Futhermore, architects like Francisco Enríquez y Ferrer and José María Aguilar y Vela are some of the main exponents of this contemporary architecture as a result of this we have a unique a very remarkable in Balneario de Archena
