Abstract
postguerra.
One of the priority issues of the last History Conference of the Spanish Association of Neuropsychiatry was the need tore establish the role of patients in health care work as an object of historical recovery. This work is the refore situated with in this same framework, based on the archival reconstruction of the care provided in the military psychiatric clinic no.9 in Benidorm, which remained practically unpublished. In this way, it has been possible to find out the exact location of that rearguard establishment, its infrastructure and resources, as well as its staff and medical personnel. The psychiatric care of the patients who were admitted to the facility is recorded in the files found, and their histories constitute an exceptional source of information on the ir traumatic experiences of the war. While awaiting the completion of the recovery of the original documents, we present this review which will allow a more rigorous examination than the quantitative balance published after a tendentious reading of the dat a in the immediate post war period.
