Abstract
Las especies de poliquetos encontradas en las surgencias hidrotennales profundas están especializadas
en la explotación de las bacterias quimiolitotrofas del azufre. En el Golfo de Nápoles, área de gran actividad
volcánica, se ha estudiado una solfatara submarina situada en una pradera somera de Posidonia oceanica. El
área de surgencia está caracterizado por la presencia de un tapíz blanco de bacterias oxidantes del sulfuro sobre
rizoma muerto de Posidonia oceanica. Se han encontrado 43 especies de poliquetos, todas ellas características
de ambientes litorales. Predominan las especies filtradoras frente a las depositívoras y carnívoras. Los poliquetos
típicos de surgencias oceánicas profundas son sustituidos en el Golfo de Nápoles por especies litorales
oportunistas capaces de explotar la producción fotosintética y quimiolitotrófica.
Toe polychaete wonns found in the deep-sea hydrothennal vents are specialized in the exploitation of chemolithotrophic bacteriae. A gasohydrothennal vent located in a shallow Posidonia oceanica meadow was studied in the Gulf of Naples. Toe vent area appears as a white film of sulfuroxidizing bacteria in dead rhizome of Posidonia oceanica. Toe polychaete wonns (43 species) collected from this shallow ventare characteristic of coastal environments. Prevailing suspension-feeder species opposite deposit-feeder and carnivorous species. Toe specializated polychaeta from deep-sea hydrothennal vents are replaced by opportunists species able to exploit chemosynthetic and photosynthetic production both.
