Abstract
El propósito de la presente investigación ha sido
estudiar la relación existente entre la personalidad de la
madre y las reacciones temperamentales que presenta su
hijo ante estímulos físicos y sociales. Para este propósito,
empleamos una muestra constituida por 38 bebés y sus
respectivas madres. Todos los bebés nacieron a término,
sin complicaciones pre ni postnatales y pertenecían a un
nivel socioeconómico medio. Las madres cumplimentaron
el Cuestionario de Personalidad 16PF de Cattell en el último
trimestre de embarazo. A los 9 meses de edad, los bebés
fueron sometidos a diferentes situaciones de laboratorio
en las que se enfrentaban a personas y objetos con el fin
de que exhibieran su tono emocional, nivel de actividad y
vocalizaciones. Los resultados indicaron que existía una relación
predictiva significativa entre la extroversión materna
y el nivel de actividad, tono emocional y vocalizaciones
mostradas por sus hijos cuando eran enfrentados a personas
y objetos. ----------------
The aim of the present research was to investigate the relationships between maternal personality and their infants’ temperamental reactions when they are faced both to social and physical stimuli. For this purpose a sample of 38 infants and theirs mothers were studied. All newborns were full-term, without any pre and post-natal complication and belonging to a middle-class socioeconomic status. The mothers filled out the Cattell´s 16PF during the last trimester of pregnancy. Subsequently, at nine months of age, the infants were involved in different laboratory situations including persons and objects in order to exhibit their activity level, emotional tone and vocalizations. The results indicated that a predictive significant relationship exists between the maternal extroversion and emotional tone, activity level and vocalizations showed by theirs infants, when these are faced both to persons and objects
