Abstract
Este trabajo presenta una revisión sistemática del concepto,
propiedades y componentes conductuales y fisiológicos
del reflejo de orientación. Se presenta asimismo un
análisis detallado de los principales componentes sensoriales,
electroencefalográficos, vegetativos y musculares de
este reflejo, tanto en función de los datos clásicos como de
los avances posteriores. Por último se abordan perspectivas
actuales sobre el fraccionamiento diferencial de estos componentes
y su posible significado psicológico a la luz de
los datos actuales.
This paper offers a systematic revision of the concept, main properties and components of the orienting reflex. It also presents a detailed analysis of the main sensory, electroencephalographic, autonomic and muscular components of this reflex, including both, classical data and current research. Finallv, modern approaches to the directional division of these components and to their possible psychological significance are considered.
