Abstract
Resumen: La razón instrumental en la economía de mercado encuentra una de sus manifestaciones más significativas en
la época contemporánea y podemos constatar como dicho modelo no obtiene sus mejores resultados. Esto, tal como
señalan Adorno y Horkheimer, es debido a que la racionalidad ilustrada parte del pensamiento mítico, deviniendo una
forma de razón tal que la llevará a la autodestrucción. El pensamiento quedará reducido así al dominio a través del
número. Trataremos de desenmascarar su “telos”. Detrás de él late: el dominio de la “naturaleza”, la búsqueda de
beneficio, la autoconservación... Una vez que la razón instrumental olvida sus límites, se pliega sobre sí misma y se
devora.
Abstract: Nowadays, instrumental reasoning finds one of its most remarkable manifestations in the market economy, and it is not difficult to observe that it is not obtaining the best results. This, as Adorno and Horkheimer point out, stems from the fact that the Enlightment's reason comes from mythical thinking, becoming a way of reasoning that will lead to its own destruction. Thought is thus reduced to power exercised by the number. We will attempt to unmask that “telos”. Behind it lies the power over “nature”, the search for profit, the self-preservation... Once instrumental reasoning forgets its limits, it bends towards itself and devours itself.
