Abstract
Se presenta un estudio comparativo de resultados de la aplicación del Test
K-ABC de Kaufman (1983) entre preescolares de nuestro país y preescolarés americanos.
Un total de 261 preescolares de la provincia de Girona fue seleccionado
mediante muestreo aleatorio por conglomerados. Se administró la batería del K-ABC
y se analizaron las puntuaciones en comparación con las puntuaciones americanas
verificando la significación de diferencias mediante el coeficiente «z». Se concluye
que el K-ABC es una herramienta útil para la valoración del procesamiento cerebral;
que su poder de discriminación es aceptable; que se infieren diferencias entre procesamiento
simultáneo y secuencial, y que razones socioculturales pueden explicar
determinadas diferencias.
A study conceming K-ABC results un preshool children of Girona (Spain) is reported. Random sampling of preschool children living in Girona (Spain) was selected. Two strata were done based on the mode of clasroom. Kaufman Assesment Battery for Children was applied and this scores were compared to the american scores. In making tests of significance, «z» scores were used. The conclusions are: the K-ABC is an useful instrument for processing assessment; its discriminant power is acceptable; differences between processes are present and sociocultural reasons rnay explain sorne differences.
