Description
Abstract
This text presents the results of an empirical study that included the participation of 103 young university students residing in Bahías de Huatulco (Oaxaca, Mexico) aimed at knowing (i) whether they consider that tourists smell the same or different than locals, and (ii) what tourists smell like in their opinion, exploring in both cases the possible moral interest of the responses. The text begins by exposing a brief theoretical framework, citing other research on smells and in particular on the links that exist between morality and smell. After detailing the methodology followed, the answers given by the respondents are presented and analyzed, and finally we reflect on those answers that are of greater interest for tourism ethics.
