dc.description.abstract	This article reflects on the sacred meaning of the drum in Candomblé through an interdisciplinary methodological approach that integrates comparative religious history, ethnomusicology, and decolonial theory. Using the concept of hierophany, the drum is analyzed beyond its sonic dimension, as an object that makes the sacred present, reconfiguring time, space, and (inter)subjectivity during the worship ceremony of the Orishas. The decolonial perspective adopted in this research provides tools to revalue historically marginalized knowledge and challenges traditional epistemological frameworks that have tended to exoticize and reduce the syncretism and complexity of Afro-Brazilian religious experiences. This theoretical and methodological framework also enables the study of the drum culture in Candomblé as a relational practice that connects body, community, and memory. The conclusions emphasize that, in addition to being a manifestation of the sacred, the drum serves as a central element in the religious experience of the Orisha worship, a bridge between the human and the divine, through which individual and collective identities can be woven. The research demonstrates that understanding these practices requires a critical perspective that recognizes their own rationality and their legitimacy within non-subordinated epistemic frameworks. The drum is not only a ritual object but also a fundamental symbolic and spiritual operator in Afro-descendant religious ceremonies.
dc.description.abstract	El presente artículo reflexiona sobre el sentido sagrado del tambor en el candomblé desde un enfoque metodológico interdisciplinar que articula la historia comparada de las religiones, la etnomusicología y la teoría decolonial. A partir del concepto de hierofanía, se analiza el tambor más allá de su dimensión sonora, como un objeto que hace presente lo sagrado reconfigurando el tiempo, el espacio y la (inter)subjetividad durante la ceremonia del culto a los orixás. La perspectiva decolonial adoptada en esta investigación ofrece herramientas para revalorizar saberes históricamente subalternizados, y permite cuestionar los marcos epistemológicos tradicionales que han tendido a exotizar y a reducir el sincretismo y la densidad de las experiencias religiosas afro-brasileñas. Este marco teórico y metodológico posibilita, además, abordar la cultura del tambor en el candomblé como una práctica relacional que vincula cuerpo, comunidad y memoria. Las conclusiones destacan que, además de ser una manifestación de lo sagrado, el tambor constituye un eje central en la experiencia religiosa del culto a los orixás, un puente entre lo humano y lo divino, desde el que poder tejer identidades individuales y colectivas. La investigación realizada demuestra que la comprensión de estas prácticas exige una mirada crítica que reconozca su racionalidad propia y su legitimidad dentro de marcos epistémicos no subordinados. El tambor no es solo un objeto ritual, sino también un operador simbólico y espiritual fundamental en las ceremonias de las religiosidades afrodescendientes.
