dc.descriptionA pulsar, an acronym for ‘pulsating star’, is a very high-density star that rotates on its axis, emitting pulses of electromagnetic radiation that we perceive periodically from our planet. The work musically conveys the reception of these waves of force, which the orchestra expands and contracts in an eminently timbral discourse. The interior of each of these waves superimposes and juxtaposes lines with di!erent metric pulsations, thus distilling an idea of fractality. The musical discourse "ows through di!erent textural, rhythmic and timbral densities, although a small musical cell, constructed in the manner of a heartbeat and heard from the #rst bar, gives the whole piece its organic nature.
