Abstract
Tras
la
muerte
del
obispo
de
Cartagena
Fray
Antonio
de
Trejo
en
1635,
la
f
ábrica
de
la
Catedral
de
Murcia
comienza
un
proceso
judicial
contra
la
capilla
de
la
Inmaculada
Concepción
para
conseguir
el
ponti
fical
del
obispo.
El
pleito
se
recoge
en
una
real
ejecutoria
conservada
en
el
Archivo
de
la
Catedral
de
Murcia
en
el
documento
7
del
legajo
255.
El
pontifical
del
obispo
Trejo
estaba
compuesto
por
gran
cantidad
de
objetos
litúrgicos
destinados
a
las
cerem
onias
solemnes
que
él
presidía
en
la
catedral
y
los
que
poseía
en
el
oratorio
privado
del
palacio
episcopal.
Este
pontifical
permite
conocer
mejor
el
interés
de
Fray
Antonio
de
Trejo
por
dignificar
el
culto
y
consolidar
la
figura
episcopal
en
la
Diócesis
a
la
vez
que
refuerza
su
imagen
como
prelado
plenamente
reformista.
After the death of the bishop of Cartagena Fray Antonio de Trejo in 1635, t he fabric, or custodial office, of the Cathedral of Murcia beg an a judicial process against the c hapel of the Immaculate Conception to obtain the pontifical of the bishop. The dispute is recorded in a r oyal record kept in the Archive of the Cathedral of Mu rcia under Document 7 of File 255. The pontifical of Bishop Trejo was composed of a large number of liturgical objects destined for the solemn ceremonies he presided over in the Cathedral and those which he possessed in the private oratory of the Episcopa l Palace. This pontifical allows to learn more about the interest of Brother Antonio de Trejo in dignifying the cult and shaping the face of the epis copacy in the Diocese while reinforcing his image as a reform - minded prelate
