Abstract
This paper describes the social image of public libraries in the region of Murcia in public opinion, through the study of its appearance in the regional print media. We conclude that the library staff, the professionals and graduates in Library associations, universities related to the sector should be more involved and express their views and proposals in the media in order to counteract the lack of news and social attention resources and library systems, trying to influence society or amend and expand the information that may appear incomplete
