We wil analyze Désorientale, the frst novel by the Iranian writer Négar Djavadi, who writes in French. The study of her production context will show the relevance of her inclusion in the current paradigm of writers of very different origins who have chosen French as a means of literary expression to give voice to their testimony as women and / or as exiles. The use of autofctional writing becomes a narrative technique common to all of them.
- PublicationOpen AccessEntre el látigo y la escritura: formas narrativas de la esclavitud en la novela contemporánea(2018-07-23) Nascimento dos Santos, DaianaEn el ámbito de los Estudios Postcoloniales, de los Estudios Culturales y de la Nueva Narrativa de tema historiográfico, proponemos un breve panorama crítico sobre la representación de la esclavitud y su relación con la imagen de África en el imaginario contemporáneo. El corpus seleccionado se constituye por las siguientes novelas: El reino de este mundo (1949) del cubano Alejo Carpentier; Changó, el gran putas (1984) del colombiano Manuel Zapata Olivella; A gloriosa familia (1997) del angoleño Pepetela; Rosalía la infame (2003) de la haitiana Évelyne Trouillot y Um defeito de cor (2006) de la brasileña Ana Maria Gonçalves. Mediante este enfoque interdisciplinar, hacemos una lectura crítica del pasado esclavista y esbozamos un corpus literario diversificado de obras relativas a la temática de esclavitud. La relevancia está puesta en el hecho de que el enfoque narrativo simula una primera persona, es decir, se trasviste de testimonios de relatos de los propios sobrevivientes del sistema esclavista, de modo a reinterpretar losconocimientos del pasado y entregar distintas perspectivas sobre ello, y, a la vez, desestabilizar los discursos sobre la esclavitud.
- PublicationOpen AccessEl exilio en Adieu, vive clarté... de Jorge Semprún: la superación de un trauma.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2018) Rodríguez Varela, RitaAbstract: Exile is an experience with traumatic consecuences that has accompanied the human being during all the History. Traumatism is characterized by the multiplicity and diversity of manifestations, it produces an indelible split in life. In literary fields, it appears as the motive of writing where the author seeks to understand and to give sense to the experience through writing. This article wants to analyze the experience of the exile of the writer Jorge Semprún. And that’s the reason why we first of all talk about the triple loss of his mother, his infancy and his home country; secondly, the compulsory adulthood will be exposed, and the end, the way he chose to take, will be analyzed. It helped him to overcome the consecuences of the exile and characterizes what he had to fight for during his life.

- PublicationOpen AccessOath, torture, testimony: language, law and life in the work of Giorgio Agamben(Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, 2012) Clemens, JustinIn this paper, I will argue that Giorgio Agamben has provided for a radical theory of the import of torture on human life, one that provides a different genealogy and projects different implications for the relation between torture and politics than have otherwise been given. I will begin by examining some of the features of the current, post-September 11 ‘debate’ about torture, before moving to an exegesis of Agamben’s theses and their import for thinking politics today.
- PublicationOpen Access¿Ser o no ser (un testimonio)? Este no es el problema. “Viaje a Chiapas”, de Sergio Pitol, o los testimonios del diálogo.(INLIMA. Instituto de Lingüística Materialista., 2025) Pace, Riccardo; Ceballos Gutiérrez, Germán; Sin departamento asociadoLa obra “Viaje a Chiapas” es muestra de una singular exploración narrativa por parte de su autor, Sergio Pitol, que en ella se mueve por los terrenos del diario, la crónica y el ensayo. El texto, que nace en respuesta al levantamiento zapatista de 1994, no solo relata la breve incursión del autor en la región, sino pinta un lienzo de discursos y respuestas ideológicas que emergieron tras el estallido del conflicto. Ubicada como el epílogo del magistral El arte de la fuga (1996), la pieza ha sido un punto de encuentro para la crítica, que celebra su estilo de diario, su reflexión política, su capacidad de transgredir las fronteras entre géneros, y, así, convertir el relato en un procedimiento que rompe con las convenciones literarias. Partiendo de la hipótesis de que esta obra constituye un “testimonio”, este estudio se sumerge en sus profundidades discursivas, guiado por las teorías de Bajtín y los postulados de la poética testimonial. Con ello, se adentra en las tesituras dialógicas de un texto plurilingüe, revelando cómo las voces ajenas y propias se entrelazan en una dialéctica que da paso a nuevos significados. Al mismo tiempo, explora lo que define al testimonio; su urgencia, su compromiso con la verdad, su intrínseca hibridez, para así develar la peculiar manera en que “Viaje a Chiapas” se identifica con este género.

Sobre el silencio y el testimonio de la violencia en Primo Levi(2020) Fernández López, José Antonio; FilosofíaEl presente artículo es una aproximación crítica a la figura de Primo Levi como testigo de la violencia y una indagación en la vinculación ético-política de su testimonio. Frente a lo indecible, frente a la inmoralidad de la historia, la tarea de un testigo como Levi será forzar los límites de lo posiblemente representable. En la búsqueda de una comprensión lo más profunda y matizada de esta aportación, vamos a contraponer dialécticamente su denuncia de la barbarie, su reivindicación del lugar de las víctimas del totalitarismo, frente a algunas de las interpretaciones que han clausurado o negado la posibilidad y el valor de esa clase de testimoniar, particularmente la de Giorgio Agamben.
- PublicationRestrictedWitnessing catastrophe: testimony and historical representation within and beyond the Holocaust(Philosophy Documentation Center, 2021) Pérez Baquero, Rafael; FilosofíaThis paper explores the contemporary phenomenological and psychoanalytical analyses of testimonies regarding traumatic historical events, with special attention to how such testimonies pose new challenges for the historiography of historical events in which witnesses participated. By exploring discussions on the memory of the Holocaust as well as the Spanish Civil War and Francoist repression, this paper addresses the extent to which the tensions and temporalities underlying the process of bearing witness to and giving testimony about traumatic historical events might reshape how their history is being told, written, and remembered.
