- PublicationOpen AccessInfluence of environmental attitudes in Iranian ecotourist behaviour(Universidad de Murcia. Servicio de publicaciones, 2023) Motamedi Barabadi, Samaneh; Almeida García, Fernando; Cortés Macías, RafaelThis study investigates the effects of environmental attitudes on pro-environmental behavior. A conceptual model examines the structural relations among environmental atti-tude, concern, value and knowledge towards pro environmental behavior of ecotourist. 439 Iranian ecotourists from Mashhad mountains were randomly surveyed. This study uses the structural equation model (SEM) to evaluate the factor that influence the pro-environmental behaviors. Results shows that pro-environmental concern, anthropocentric and ecocentric environmental attitude has a significant influence on pro-environmental behavior
- PublicationOpen AccessInternational tourism in the digital era: key factors driving economic growth(Springer, 2026-04-30) Moreno Enguix, María del Rocío; Gras Gil, Ester; Santos Jaén, José Manuel; Economía Financiera y Contabilidad; Facultades de la UMU::Facultad de Economía y EmpresaTourism revenue is a crucial component of national income, contributing significantly to economic and social development. This study examines the complex relationships among key determinants of international tourism receipts (ITTR) using a sample of 95 countries over the period 2013–2022, excluding the years 2020 and 2021 to avoid distortions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. To analyze how these variables interact and jointly influence tourism income, the study employs a structural equation modeling approach. The results reveal positive and significant effects of Internet connectivity, security conditions, resource availability, and price competitiveness on ITTR. Among these determinants, GDP plays a central role, not only through its direct influence on Internet connectivity but also indirectly by enhancing ITTR via improved digital infrastructure. Furthermore, the findings indicate that price competitiveness exerts both direct and moderating effects on ITTR, strengthening the impact of Internet connectivity in higher-cost destinations.
- PublicationOpen AccessThe impact of corporate social responsibility on innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises: The mediating role of debt terms and human capital(Wiley, 2021-02-21) Madrid Guijarro, Antonia; García Pérez de Lema, Domingo; Santos Jaén, José Manuel; Economía Financiera y ContabilidadThe aim of this paper is to study the influence of corporate social responsibility (CSR) over small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) innovation and the effect of two mediating variables, debt terms and human capital. Based on a sample of 2825 Span ish SMEs and applying a structural equations modeling, the results demonstrate that the effect of CSR on innovation is mediated by debt terms and by good human resource practices. Part of the positive effect of CSR on innovation occurs through these two variables, which, alone, positively and significantly affect innovation in SMEs. Consequently, the positive effect of CSR practices on debt terms through a decrease in asymmetric information goes further, also having repercussions on inno vation. Additionally, the suitable development of human resource practices based on strategies oriented toward CSR allow companies to carry out greater and more effi cient innovative activities. This paper contributes to the CSR literature considering the human resource management and the debt access in the relationship between CSR and innovation. The findings reveal important implications for policy makers and managers. For the former, the results show that it would be interesting to carry out actions aimed at assisting SMEs, especially those with fewer resources available, to implement a suitable CSR strategy, supporting sustainable development in SMEs. And, for the latter, CSR-oriented innovation has proven to be a valuable strategy for more efficient SMEs management because of the multiple competitive advantages it generates.
Servicio de Publicaciones, 2006-07-01) Lozano, SaraThe purposes of this research is to adaptate and validate a career decision-making self-efficacy scale based on Taylor and Betz (1983), Career Decision-making Self-Efficacy Scale. It is a Likert scale with 30 items, the process adaptation and validations included one expert studio, two pilot studios and a confirmatory research which is presented in this article. The measure model was validated with a sample of 2.783 Spanish students aged between 14 and 18. The scale has an Alpha 0.91 coefficient. After making an exploratory analysis and tests the five factors, we did a confirmatory analysis using the Structural Equation Model methodology, with AMOS 4.0 programme. The results of the study support the theoretical hypothesis on which the model is based. We have a valid scale to assess career decision-making self efficacy to be used by researchers and counsellors to deepen knowledge in career counselling field through the Career Social-Cognitive Theory. Implications for counselling and future research are also discussed.
- PublicationOpen AccessValidating an instrument to evaluate the teaching of mathematics through processes(Springer, 2020-02-29) Alsina, Ángel; Maurandi-Lopez, Antonio; Ferre Jaén, M. Elvira; Coronata, Claudia; Didáctica de las Ciencias Matemáticas y SocialesThe aim of this study is to validate an instrument to evaluate the teaching of mathematics through mathematical processes using a structural equation model. To that end, we have administered the instrument to 95 in-service Spanish teachers and we have also analysed the presence of mathematical processes (problem solving, reasoning and proof, communication, connections and representation) in teaching practice. The descriptive statistics obtained through a quantitative study show that all the items perform similarly in each of the processes, obtaining medium to high scores. A change in this trend is only detected in some of the items of the mathematical process “connections”, which measure if mathematical knowledge is related to other disciplines. The results obtained from the exploratory factor analysis show a high coefficient for all the processes (higher than 0.72), as well as a significant p value, and the results obtained from the confirmatory factor analysis show an internal consistency of the items of each construct, with values greater than 0.8.
