- PublicationOpen AccessLas fronteras textuales en el cantonero del conde de Popoli: Acerca de la Barzelletta "Viva, Viva, Viva Amore" y de su estrambote (ff. 9v.-10r.)(2018-01-17) Rodríguez Mesa, Francisco JoséBetween folia 9v. and 10r. of the so called Cansonero compiled by Giovanni Cantelmo, sixth Count of Popoli (Bibliothéque National de France, ms. Ital. 1035) a poem beginning with the line "Viva, viva, viva amore" and attributed to Pietro Jacopo de Jennaro can be found. This composition has been traditionally considered as a barzelletta with strambotto by both Maria Corti (1956), one the most representative scholar in de Jennaro's work, and Gil Rovira (1991, 2007), one of the main authorities in the Cansonero. Through this paper, I aim to analyse both the internal structure of this poem and its presentation in the manuscript of the Cansonero in order to try to clarify whether the traditional denomination of barzelletta with strambotto is correct or not.
