In the Southern Europe context the juxtaposition of ancient, modernized and new projects of irrigated lands explains much of the dynamism of rural areas. The obtained results on the three cases study based on their multifunctionality and their Southern-Europe framework (Segarra-Garrigues canal -Lerida-, Neste canal -Hautes-Pyrénées- and Muzza canal -Lombardia-) promote the discussion about the future of irrigation and advocates its territorial management.
