Thus, 342 por readers of 1st and 2nd grade of Primary Education participated in the research process. The tool employed to analyse reading errors was a reading errors inventory, the TIDEL (Secadas y Alfaro, 1998), using a profile technique to describe the type of reading.Results showed that reading development proceeds through four reading phases: elemental (complexity), symbolic (linking symbols), semantic (meaning anticipation) and reading phase (reading skill).
