Impostores: los casos de Alonso Quijano, Enric Marco y Francisco Rico.
    (2016-05-05) Romero Marco, Alvaro
El Quijote, as well as El impostor and Así empieza lo malo are novels that probe into the connections between reality and fiction, between truth and deceit, between literature and history. In El Quijote this is done through Alonso Quijano's literary imposture; Cercas does it digging deep into the biography of a real imposter, Enric Marco; and Javier Marías does it pretending to be professor Francisco Rico, an imposter of himself. Cervantes' imposter is a literary one, and in the end, a good one; Cercas' is real and ethically troubling; Marías' is dazzling. This various imposters illustrate the mistrust that some of our current writers have for the literary environment where the author of El Quijote got his bearings with so much gusto.
