For that purpose, she first studies the psychological elements, the passions and reason in a natural state. She then approaches the role that these elements play when time comes to build the artifice that the state is. Finally, she analyses the notion of political rationality that emerged with the state and its relationship with natural passions and reason.

All of Saavedra Fajardo's work can be catalogued as producing «concepts for the eyes». The paradox of the Baroque period resides in that the identity-producing media make it possible due to the proliferation of images it generates.
