Carmen de Burgos, una filóloga “après la lettre” ante el romanticismo
    (2018-11-09) Palomo, María del Pilar
This work aims to highlight the particular “Philological” work of the writ - er and journalist Carmen de Burgos, since she was not an academic philologist, but “après la letter”. Coeval of the great representatives of the Spanish philological school, such as Menéndez Pelayo, Bonilla San Martín, Cotarelo or Menéndez Pidal; she would use the Leopardi and Larra models to study, translate and publish, as well as her curi - osity without limits, her passionate enthusiasm and her love of literature; using all the resources of her culture, self-taught but profound. Carmen de Burgos consulted a large bibliography, readings and epistolaries, even without any textual criterion. In despite of that, we consider such work as her more beloved intention, and in this sense it was a ful fi lled intention.
