La transición hacia la economía del conocimiento en Alemania durante el periodo 1990-2020
(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones, 2025-12-31) Machado Cruz, Marcos Antonio; Sin departamento asociado
The postwar transformation of the economies of the core countries of the capitalist world system was part of a deeper process of transition from industrial to knowledge capitalism. By the 1990s, these economies had incorporated profound transformations with regard to the growing presence of knowledge in production processes and value generation. This article addresses the transition to a knowledge-based economy during the period 1990-2020 in Germany, one of the core economies with a particular model of capitalism. Its transition also presented peculiarities as it focused on maintaining the role of manufacturing as the main economic activity, unlike most other core economies. The evolution of the technological, innovative, and training components was indeed focused on strengthening and deepening manufacturing activity in the German knowledge-based economy during this period.
