This paper applies Nelwork Theory and Social Network Analysis to study the structure oí the Spanish interindustry system and iti evolution In the period 1980-2000, The maln objective is to make the network skeleton em,:rge to test the existence of a hierarchical topology where a core anda perlphety can be identiílecl. MDfeover, there are subsystems, in the complex national interindustrial system, that can be idenfied as modules and assimilated to produClion systems. The core can also be characterized analyzing the growing relevance of service sectors and, particularly, of Business Services.
