    La intensificación en los cuentos populares occitanos.

    This study offers an initial exploration of the intensi!cation strategies attested in a written corpus of 162 Occitan folktales (north-east and south-west Lengadocian varieties). Although, overall, the pool of available resources corresponds to ordinary Occitan usage, the deployment of the strategies also re"ects the particular conditions surrounding the storytelling and (cultural) transmission of folktales. Intensi!cation is used to strengthen both the audience’s immersion in the narrative, and the cultural and social cohesion of the community in which the stories are told.

    "Más tontos que el novio de la Chelo". La intensificación de la estulticia en foros y chats por medio de comparaciones creativas: una aproximación desde la Gramática de construcciones.

    Adopting a corpus-based approach, the main aim of this study is to inductively describe the intensifying comparative construction [ser más tonto que X]: ‘be foolish in its highest degree’. Therefore, it will be applied the Construction Grammar approach. In this sense, lexical "llers of the slot X will be quantitatively and qualitatively analysed in order to determine the entrenchment and productivity of the construction, as well as to "nd out potential recurrent traits of its creativity. This study aims to show the "ne line between lexicalised and creative units,, the latter being the most predominant.

    Métaphysique des tubes d’Amélie Nothomb: une vie racontée à travers l’intensité linguistique

    Abstract: Reading a book of the belgian writer Amélie Nothomb is an act of passion and dedication: through her characteristic style, filled with rhetorical images that she perfectly masters, the reader plunges into a nice and immoderate atmosphere in which reality merges with exaggeration. This is mostly referred to her autobiographical novels: in Métaphysique des Tubes The Character of Rain ) she travels through times and memories to give us a recollection of her first three years of living. By applying in this book to the point of view of a child, the author let the reader feel the same sensations as the main character, thanks to the accuracy of a precise syntax, where the speech is filled with intensification methods, becoming an implicit network underlying the main history, being by definition the real outline of the description of reality. Intensity is, in Nothomb’s book, a stylistic and narrative necessity, revealing its creative force through many lexical forms that we aim to identify and categorise in this article.

    Las nuevas comunidades mexicanas en los espacios rurales de los Estados Unidos de América : a propósito de una reflexión acerca del quehacer antropológico

    En otros trabajos he documentado el crecimiento del flujo migratorio que une a las comunidades rurales de México con los campos agrícolas de California, como resultado de la expansión y reintensificación de la agricultura norteamericana Q.V. Palerm, 1989, 1991, 1993, 1994a, 1994b, entre otros). Este ensayo agrega algunas reflexiones de carácter teórico y práctico en torno a dicha experiencia. Primero, aplicando las ideas avanzadas por Karl Kautsky (1899) y Angel Palerm (1980) sobre los límites 1 de la agricultura capitalista y su dependencia de fuentes de trabajo campesinas (no capitalistas). El caso de la agricultura de California servirá para resucitar una vieja discusión acerca del papel de los campesinos en el desarrollo del capitalismo. Segundo, aplicando las ideas de Sidney Mintz (1979 y 1985) acerca de la conveniencia analítica de integrar la producción y el consumo de las mercancías agrícolas en un mismo marco de referencia, examinaremos los factores del consumo que estimulan la demanda mundial de los productos agrícolas de California que se producen con mano de obra mexicana. Aprovechamos la ocasión para levantar algunos puntos de discusión acerca de la práctica antropológica y la formación de antropólogos capaces de enfrentar teórica y prácticamente temas del mundo moderno.
