    Análisis de la violencia escolar en centros educativos de Chile

    School violence is any intentional act that causes physical, verbal, or psychological harm within the school environment. In Chile, there are no extensive studies that allow for identifying regional trends and designing effective public policies; therefore, the objective is to analyze the prevalence and factors associated with school violence in educational centers between 2014 and 2023. Reports from the Superintendence of Education’s database were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (multiple regression, Kruskal-Wallis, χ2, and Tukey tests) to identify influential factors and compare the number of reports among different types of municipalities and educational centers. Findings indicate an increase in school violence in recent years. Addi-tionally, significant differences were found in the number of reports depending on the type of educational center and region, with physical abuse of students being the most common form of violence and a significant increase noted in cases of sexual connotation. The study suggests the need for specific intervention policies and programs tailored to the particularities of each environment and specific types of violence, aiming to improve the safety and well-being of students. This study provides a broad and objective view of school violence in Chile, identifying patterns across various types of institutions and municipalities. Although it does not capture individual experiences, it offers a strong foundation for policy development and could be enriched by future qualitative studies to deepen understanding of the phenomenon.
