    Disparità di genere e part-time involontario

    Il lavoro a tempo parziale costituisce una forma di impiego adatta a conciliare esigenze individuali legate alla sfera privata (formazione, tempo libero), familiare (cura di figli e/o familiari, lavoro domestico) e lavorativa. Tuttavia non sempre la scelta di lavorare ad orario ridotto è libera. Il saggio analizza il fenomeno in crescita dei part-time involontari rappresentati da coloro che desidererebbero lavorare a tempo pieno ma non sono riusciti a trovare un altro impiego più consono alle loro necessità, mettendo in evidenza come il part-time involontario sia maggiormente diffuso tra le donne. Ed infatti in molti casi l'assenza di strutture e servizi sociali adeguati costringe le donne a scegliere il lavoro a tempo parziale per conciliare lavoro retribuito, lavoro di cura e assistenza familiare, determinando in ultimo per le stesse condizioni retributive inadeguate, oltre che scarse opportunità di crescita professionale.

    Everyday life infrastructure impact on subjective well-being in the European Union: a gender perspective

    This paper processes the 2015 Benefits of Gender Equality through Infrastructure Provision (BGEIP) Survey, a representative survey for the EU-28, to estimating the impact of everyday life infrastructure access on subjective well-being (SWB) from a gender perspective in Europe. Our estimations prove that accessing everyday life infrastructure in Europe indeed increases SWB, but it contributes to increasing more the SWB of women than that of men. Women’s well-being is positively affected for all kinds of everyday life infrastructures, but the differences with respect to men are larger for the Nursery category for children up to 3 years and for the Centers category for people with long term disabilities. In contrast, men’s well-being is only sensitive to the Health infrastructure and to the Gym and Workout places. Clearly, targeting infrastructure investment helping women in caring children, and other dependents in the family constitute an excellent vehicle for increasing women’s SWB and reducing gender inequality in Europe.

    Gender and work in Europe: towards the end of inequality?

    Gender inequality affects the labour market of any territory. Despite government measures to eradicate it, it continues to cause discrimination. In this article, the gender inequality in the European labour market between 2002 and 2021 is analysed to advance the knowledge of this complex phenomenon. After reviewing the main theoretical contributions, the most suitable indicators are defined. The results reveal that the gender pay gap has increased in the European labour market, despite indicators such as the Gender Equality Index, employment rates, or levels of occupational segregation showing favourable progress. Therefore, governments must design efficient policies, mainly on pay equity, to achieve equal conditions in the European labour market.

    La legitimidad de los bienes culturales producidos por mujeres. Genio, división de espacios y campo artístico.

    Partiendo del modelo de interpretación del campo artístico y cultural como un campo social de acción e influencia entre los agentes que lo componen y los procesos que lo estructuran (Becket, Bourdieu), este artículo analiza varios informes (MAV; CyM) sobre la representatividad y participación de las mujeres en varios ámbitos de las industrias culturales en la actualidad. Entre las causas que puedan estar bloqueando las carreras profesionales de las mujeres se discute la vigencia de dos interpretaciones clásicas de los estudios feministas: el rol del genio creador y la división de espacios. Se argumenta que el déficit histórico de presencia de mujeres en el espacio social del campo cultural, debido a la división tradicional de roles y espacios, sigue siendo causa de la infrarrepresentación de los bienes culturales producidos por mujeres.

    Sensibilización y formación en igualdad de género del alumnado de grado en Magisterio en Castilla-La Mancha (España)

    The incorporation of a gender perspective in teacher education is essential to ensure an equitable educational system; however, its inclusion in training programs presents shortcomings that perpetuate structural inequalities and limit teachers’ capacity to act as agents of social change. This study is based on a mixed-methods design with an explanatory sequential approach, integrating quantitative and qualitative methods applied in two consecutive phases. The objectives were to analyze teacher education students’ sensitivity toward gender equality training and to explore their perceptions of this topic. The first phase included a sample of 1,143 students enrolled in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, and Double Degree programs at the Faculties of Education in Castilla-La Mancha (Spain). In the second phase, 27 focus groups were conducted with 210 previously surveyed students from the same initial teacher training programs. Quantitative results reveal a significant gap between the desire to receive gender equality training and its actual availability, highlighting its limited integration in training curricula. Women showed greater sensitivity toward its inclusion, although no differences were found in awareness of gender inequalities or institutional perception. Qualitative findings revealed the insufficiency of current training, limiting students’ critical preparation and potentially perpetuating sexist attitudes. Teacher education students advocate for more structured and continuous training systematically integrated into university curricula. The study confirms the urgent need to revise training programs by adopting a comprehensive and transversal approach to gender equality education to promote both professional development and the effective implementation of equality policies.

    Visibilidad del deporte femenino en la prensa deportiva digital española

    Las noticias deportivas tienen una gran demanda social en España. Sin embargo, a pesar de que hombres y mujeres están interesados en este tipo de publicaciones, y de que ambos practican deporte, los medios de comunicación españoles se centran casi exclusivamente en dar cobertura a los eventos deportivos protagonizados por el sexo masculino. Esta investigación se centra en analizar cuál es la visibilidad dada al deporte femenino en comparación con el masculino y conocer qué grado de desigualdad existe entre ambos sexos en la prensa digital mediante una metodología centrada en el análisis de contenido. Se demuestra que el deporte femenino es totalmente invisible en la prensa digital deportiva española (Marca y AS) estudiada y que, a día de hoy, no se están tomando medidas para mejorar la situación que sufren las deportistas ni para lograr una igualdad efectiva entre géneros. Las aportaciones realizadas ponen de relieve la necesidad de que se implanten medidas concretas en materia de difusión de la información deportiva a nivel nacional, para conseguir que el deporte femenino esté más presente en los medios de comunicación y se haga un tratamiento mediático menos estereotipado y un uso del espacio informativo igualitario.

    Walking on broken glass: gender as predictor of job precariousness among young people in Spain

    Evidencia previas revelan que los factores socioeconómicos, como la duración del contrato, laocupación, el sector de actividad, la edad, la formación, la nacionalidad, el estado civil o el género, conducen a laprecariedad. Esta investigación indaga en la interseccionalidad de las desigualdades para explicar el impacto dela precariedad entre los jóvenes en función del género. Se han analizado los datos de la Encuesta de PoblaciónActiva (EPA) de España entre 2005 y 2016 mediante regresión logística y segmentación jerárquica. Los resultadossugieren que la crisis económica ha ampliado la brecha de género en los empleos precarios, de manera queactualmente las mujeres jóvenes son más propensas a enfrentarse a situaciones de precariedad en comparacióncon los hombres jóvenes.
