Competitive figure skating is a sport of early specialization characterized by highly stressful moments. The aim of this work is, on the one hand, to establish the profile of psychological skills in elite level figure skaters of individual disciplines, studying their relationship with age, category, performance and the presence of psychology consultants. On the other hand, to examine predictive power of these skills on engagement and intention to drop-out. A total of 194 skatersfrom South America (88.7% female) aged 14-37 years (M= 20.29, SD= 4.44) participated, completing a Sociodemographic Questionnaire, the Psychological Inventory of Sport Performance, the Athlete Engagement Questionnaire and the Intention to drop-out scale. The skaters of the highest category (World Skate) had higher scores in self-confidence (d= 0.31), negative energy control (d= 0.44) and attention control (d= 0.33), while those who achieved the first place within the last two years had higher levels of self-confidence (d= 0.55) and negative energy control (d= 0.43) than those who achieved second or third place. The same occurred for those working with a psychologist in their visualization and imagery control (d= 0.30) and motivation (d= 0.29). No differences were found according to age. Motivation of skaters predicts both engagement (β= 0.38) and intention to drop-out (β= -0.55), and for engagement, positive energy control (β= 0.42) also resulted as a significant predictor. Understanding the psychological variables and optimizing them through the work of Psychology professionals may allow improving training processes, well-being and increasing the possibilities of success in sport competition
