Abstract: The reduced presence of idiomatic expressions (EI) in French as a Foreign Language (FLE) textbooks and there foreign teaching pro- grammes is not surprising given that those who develop them consider these language units to be complex elements and therefore difficult to learn. Our teaching activity leads us to observe that the traditional teaching and learning methods of EI are of little use to the learner in the long term, since they are kept in his or her language for a limited period of time and end up being almost completely diluted. That is why in this article we try to analyse the causes of this absence and how we can contribute to the fact that idioms can obtain greater weight in the teaching programme FLE. Thus, we present a methodological proposal for its teaching in the classroom taking into account three aspects: the iconicity of language expressions, the ICT support of Youtube and Power Point and the ap- proach of active methodologies.
