    Abstract: In 1923, Freud wrote that “le Moi est avant tout une entité corporelle, non seulement une entité toute en surface, mais une entité correspondant à la projection d’une surface” (“Le Moi et le Ça”). The psychoanalyst demonstrated indeed that impulses emanate from biological instincts. In this sense, the skin is source of numerous repre - sentations of the Ego (I) for the psyche. From an interdisciplinary point of view, this ar - ticle will try to show how the Ego crystallizes in Les Yeux sans visage (1960, Georges Franju). Based on Freud (1920, 1923, 1932) and Lacan (1955, 1966, 1973), this research follows he works undertaken by the psychoanalyst Didier Anzieu (1974, 1985). In particular, his notion of The Skin-Ego , elaborated in 1974, will make it possible to show the determining role of the skin for the stability of the Ego , as well as its functioning in its relationship with the other/ Other.
