    ΓΕΡΩΝ ΚΑΙ ΘΕΙΟΣ ΑΟΙΔΟΣ
    (2017-03-09) Pórtulas, Jaume
In this paper an attempt is made to connect two well-known aspects of the Homeric legend: the Poet's characterization as a blind old singer in Margites (fr. 1 West) and in the Homeric Hymn to Apollo (172-173); and the passage of the Vita Homeri herodotea (xxxiii 481-82 Allen) where Homer teaches the song of the ... to the Samian children. The fortune of the expression ...(Margites 1, 2 West) is also analyzed. The ultimate aim is to trace the outline of the interaction between an old poet and his young pupils in compositions such as the ... and the 'swallow-song' and in the background of the Homeric (pseudo)biographies.
