The instrument was developed ad hoc using a mixed system of field formats and a framework of exhaustive and mutually exclusive categories. It is a large-scale instrument composed of 15 criteria and 112 categories, ncluding, as particularly relevant criteria, the completion of the action following ball loss, the distribution of lanes, and the field sectors. A data quality analysis and a generalizability study were conducted. The results of Pearson, Spearman, and Kendall’s Tau-b correlation coefficients, as well as Cohen’s Kappa index, were considered adequate, with values ranging from .94 to .98 for intra-observer reliability and from .75 to .85 for inter-observer reliability. The Kappa agreement index was .91 and .81, respectively. The generalizability analysis confirmed the observers’ reliability, with both relative and absolute G coefficients exceeding .91 in both cases. The results confirm that the observation tool is characterized by high validity, precision, and reliabilit
