    Perception of and motivation for attending bullfights: A comparative analysis of tourists and residents

    This article analyses the link between bullfighting and tourism, and the motivations and satisfaction of the attendees. It carries out a comparative analysis of tourist profiles and their motives for attending or not a bullfight. The aim is to analyse the variables influencing the satisfaction of attendees at bullfights. The results reveal significant differences between resi-dents and tourists on the level of satisfaction, with higher levels for higher-income attendees, and in demographic variables, the motivation for attending bullfights and feelings about the life of the animal.

    La tauromaquia y los otros festejos taurinos. Un complejo festivo fragmentado

    Las fiestas de toros conforman un amplio y diverso complejo iberoamericano. Sin embargo, durante siglos se ha distinguido a la tauromaquia como la más civilizada de estas celebraciones, considerándola un arte que sólo los entendidos pueden apreciar. A partir de las reflexiones del filósofo Francis Wolff, se emprende un recorrido histórico y antropológico para mostrar cuán diversas son las tradiciones taurinas en España y México, así como las tensiones que hay entre ellas.
